63 Oregon Fishing Lakes & Streams Stocked with 120,000 Trout for Memorial Day

Sharing is caring!

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife has stuffed more than 50 Oregon lakes and a handful of streams with more about 120,000 hatchery trout ahead of Memorial Day Weekend.

To help you find some of those trout for yourself, maybe closer to home, I’ve broken down the ODFW’s data into several helpful lists.

The first list below ranks the 15 reservoirs, lakes and rivers that the state scheduled to be stocked with the most trout during the week ahead of the three-day holiday.

All of these spots are stocked with at least 2,500 hatchery trout, and some with many more legals and/or larger trout than that. If you’re looking for LOTS of trout, start there.

After the list of top spots, continue down this page to find all of the stocking locations for each of Oregon’s angling zones. The locations are followed by the numbers of trout that were slated to be planted at each spot, as well as a total stocked across that regional area.

The stocking numbers that include an asterisk (*) all include larger trout in the mix. Most of the those are trophy trout measuring 14 to 17 inches and usually weighing over a pound. A smattering of the larger fish are brood trout, which can be massive.

All together, over 60 locations across the state were expected to be stocked in recent days.

You’ll also notice that many of the bodies of water are hyperlinked. Click those links to reach articles with more detailed information about each location. I’m still in the process of updating some of those articles as I wrap this one up, but all will give you some additional insights.
