On this page, we list the latest rainbow trout stocking schedule for lakes, ponds, and streams near Austin.
Texas Parks & Wildlife (TPWD) stocks hatchery-raised trout across the state during the coldest months of the year, when trout can survive long enough for local anglers to catch them.
The Greater Austin area, including Travis, Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, and Williamson counties, is on the trout route, as it were. A good handful of local waters are primed with new trout from late fall through late winter.
Besides Austin, residents of this area live in Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville, and many smaller communities and rural areas. None are too terribly far from the fresh trout stocked in the locations listed in the table below.
