62,303 Trout Stocked in 28 Oregon Waters for July 4 Fishing

Sharing is caring!

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is stocking more than 62,000 hatchery rainbow trout across the state to make sure that lots of anglers see trout as well as fireworks for this holiday weekend.

In all, 28 bodies of water ranging from small ponds to big reservoirs to high lakes to cold-flowing streams, are all included in this week’s stocking schedule, according to ODFW.

Some of the waters being stocked just ahead of the Fourth of July holiday weekend are among Oregon’s best-known fishing spots, including the following where we also have detailed fishing guides (click the blue links for those free full-length articles).

The trout stocking numbers listed throughout this article are for legal-sized rainbows, unless otherwise noted at each location.
