Setting a Wyoming Fishing Record

Fishing records in Wyoming are determined by weight taken on a state-certified scale only. These inspected scales are in places like grocery stores and Post Offices where weights determine fair prices.

You’ll need two witnesses for the weighing and the fish species must also be confirmed by a Wyoming Game and Fish Department fish biologist.

Fish must be caught on a rod, reel and line, or pole, following state fishing rules. Also, the fish must be caught in waters open to the general public.

For more information or to download the fish record application form, go to Wyoming’s Record Fish page.
