Did You Catch a Record Fish?

You must meet a variety of requirements to have your fish listed among Utah’s fishing records. One of those steps is submitting the appropriate application form.

For fish you keep, the specimen must be weighed on a certified scale, while released fish must first be photographed next to a measuring tape or similar device.

Bring your camera, your measuring tape, and a cooler full of ice to keep your harvested fish fresh to improve your odds of landing a new state record. Also, fish legally and in waters open to the public.

Then follow all the other rules and process set out by Utah Division of Wildlife Services.

No Longer Eligible

Note that the handful of fish marked in the charts above with an asterisk (*) after the species name are no longer being accepted for possible fish records.

Consider the other species in these charts to be potential species for new state records. Maybe yours?
