Just ahead of the Labor Day holiday, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s trout stocking trucks have been busy delivering more than 23,000 rainbow trout into waters around the state.
This final summer holiday weekend offers a perfect chance to get out and wet a line while the weather is still gorgeous across Oregon.
This week’s ODFW stocking schedule features 10 different waters, ranging from mountain lakes and reservoirs to famous rivers and small ponds. The spots include several mountain lakes near Portland as well as waterways an easy drive from Eugene, Medford and Bend.
While North Fork Reservoir was scheduled to receive by far the most trout, Trillium and Harriet lakes were expected to be stocked with some larger trophy trout.
