The mid-Willamette Valley has great trout fishing in Detroit Reservoir, thick kokanee in Green Peter and salmon and steelhead in North and South Santiam rivers.
The best spots for fishing and shellfish in this part of Oregon include Coos and Winchester bays and the Coquille, Smith, Umpqua and North Umpqua rivers.
The famous Rogue River is one of the best fishing spots in Oregon, but the Applegate, Chetco and Elk rivers also offer excellent angling on Oregon’s South Coast.
Southwest Oregon’s great fishing spots include Diamond, Selmac and Tenmile lakes and Applegate, Howard Prairie, Hyatt and Lost Creek reservoirs.
Southeast Oregon’s rivers can be remote and flow throuh rugged country, but prepared anglers find willing trout (and some bass) and often less fishing pressure.
