Contributing Writer Goose Lake is a mountain oasis for trout fishing in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest less than two hours from Vancouver. The lake is generously stocked and has up to four species of trout.
Lacamas Lake near Camas has pretty good trout fishing after cool-weather plantings and offers good warm weather fishing for bass, panfish and catfish.
Battle Ground Lake offers excellent trout fishing when it is stocked from fall through spring. There is fair summer fishing for bass and other species at this pretty state park just a half hour from Vancouver.
